Potomac Valley Church (POVA) opened a new location on Easter – April 17 – celebrating its faith and having a BBQ.

More than 1,000 pounds of meat was prepared, giving fresh meals to the over 100 members who attended

The church also organized a food pantry, giving away hundreds of food bags to needy families.

It opened with its Service at 10 a.m. and started the banquet and food drive at 11:30 a.m.

There were games and events held at the banquet, such as an Easter Egg hunt. The goal was to bring communities together from all across the county.

Many local politicians attended, such as Mayor of Dumfries Derrick Woods and Prince William County Chairwoman Ann Wheeler, who came to experience the event.

Lead Pastor Will Archer said, “It was incredible that after the past three years where we have been navigating this global pandemic to see the walls come down and have people engage … one of the things that stood out to me was the incredible diversity that we experienced in this service.”
